The daily price of Gilan Hashemi rice at the origin of production is determined and updated directly by the Hashemi Rice Exchange, taking into account the elimination of unnecessary intermediaries and fluctuations in cultivation costs. By establishing direct communication between the leading farmers in the cities of Astana Ashrafieh and Rasht with the final consumer, we have eliminated the additional costs of dealers so that a pure product with an authentic aroma and home-made cooking will reach you. Buying directly from the producer is not only economical, but also the only way to ensure that Hashemi rice is not mixed with high-yielding and low-quality varieties that are abundantly found in the market.
Why Hashemi rice market fluctuates in price?
Understanding the real price of Hashemi rice requires knowing the production cycle in Gilan province. Hashemi rice is considered a strategic product due to its high sensitivity to pests and the need for special care, and its yield is lower than that of modified rice. Labor costs in the planting and weeding stage, the price of agricultural inputs and most importantly the inflation rate are the main factors of price changes. A lot of the prices you see in the market are caused by cycles of middlemen that pass the Hashmi rice through several hands and at each stage an unreasonable profit is added to it. At the Hashemi Rice Exchange, we have kept the price at the bottom of the market by eliminating these brokers.
Identifying the original Hashemi rice when buying
The biggest challenge in buying Hashemi rice is to recognize its authenticity. Our field experience shows that the main difference between the original Hashmi rice lies in the amount of aroma and the durability of its cooking. Hashemi rice grains are usually bone-colored, elongated and pendulous. After cooking, the authentic Hashemi rice of Gilan remains soft for hours and so-called "does not go away". The combination of this rice with high-yielding cultivars such as Shiroudi or Fajr is the most common fraud in the market due to their appearance. Buying from a collection that takes responsibility for the quality of the product directly from the rice field to the door is the only safe way to escape from these frauds.
The difference between buying wholesale and retail from Hashemi Rice Exchange
Our strategy in Hashemi Rice Exchange is based on transparency in pricing. For major buyers (restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores), prices are adjusted based on order volume and harvest season. Buying during the harvest season (September and Mehr) is always the cheapest time frame to meet the annual needs. For home buyers, we have made it possible to purchase standard and sanitary packages that are loaded directly from the central warehouse without handling or mixing.

Benefits of buying directly from Gilani manufacturer
Direct supply from the manufacturer is not limited to price reduction. When the rice comes directly from the paddy field to your warehouse, unauthorized storage steps that lead to stale or moldy rice are eliminated. Rice stored in middlemen's warehouses often loses its original quality due to improper moisture conditions. We use modern cleaning and sorting equipment at the source, we separate all the waste, gravel and broken seeds and pack a pure product. This operational approach makes the output of your cooking at home to be exactly the same quality that you experience in the rice-growing areas of Gilan.
Rice storage strategy to maintain quality
Many customers make mistakes in storing Hashemi rice after buying it, and the quality of rice deteriorates after a few months. The most important factor in maintenance is keeping away from moisture and heat. Our suggestion is to store rice in metal containers or cloth bags in a dry and cool environment. Using some sea salt in the layers of rice or putting a few cloves of dry garlic is one of the most common and effective traditional methods to prevent pest infestation, which is used locally in the rice fields of Gilan, and we also recommend it to our customers.
